Course Overview
Overview
This qualification will develop your knowledge and practical skills to sort and classify wool into various sale types. You will learn skills in determining wool classing strategies, valuing wool, supervising work routines and staff performance, managing shearing and crutching operations, as well as classing wool for special markets. At the end of the course, you should also be able to provide information and advice on wool preparation, and implementing and monitoring quality assurance procedures.
Duration
Part-time: 12 Months
Requirements
- Wearing suitable enclosed footwear
- It is strongly advised applicants to have completed Year 12 or are over age 16.
Wool classing and work in a shearing shed requires the need to conduct physical work in a timely manner
Assessment
Assessment includes both theory and practical assessments.
Other Information
Face to Face in a dynamic interactive classroom setting or by Correspondence with flexible practical sessions organised to suit students needs.
