Course Overview
Overview
This short course of 3 days provides the practical operation in both Skid Steer and Excavator. Designed for those who have very little, or no, experience in operating skid steers or excavators.
You will learn how to:
- plan and prepare the site
- pre-operational checks on the equipment
- lifting, carrying and placing materials
- selecting, removing and fitting attachments
- relocating the machine
- carrying out operator maintenance

Requirements
- You must be at least 17 years old
- Reasonable fitness to climb in and out of the machine.
- Students required to wear long pants of a sturdy nature, enclosed footwear and sun/wet weather protection.
There is a requirement to complete pre-course study. The pre-course study will be provided to you once you are enrolled into the course. Bring this with you on Day 1 of the course.
Please also note there are NO canteen facilities available at either the Logic Campus or Shepparton Campus. Logic has vending machines with limited options available and both locations have Service Stations located within 5 minutes drive. Alternatively both Campuses have a student kitchen facility with fridge and microwave.
Assessment
There are 2 components:
Formative assessment made up of 2 components - Written Questions and Observation

By successfully completing this course you will receive an AQF Statement of Attainment and HRW licence as well as a photo competency card.
