Course Overview
Overview
This course is for you if you have some experience using professional audio recording equipment, or a genuine desire to make your start in the sound production industry. Learn in a real-world environment with our on-campus studio! This course will appeal to you if you are hoping to work as a sound mixer/technician or sound recorder/engineer in the music, performance and media industries. At the completion of this course you will be able to mix live bands and concerts, and record and master music for professional release. Taught by experienced sound production professionals, this course will give you the edge you need to succeed in the music industry.
Duration
Full-time: 11 months
Requirements
You may enter the qualification with limited or no vocational experience, however we recommend that you have completed Year 10 as a minimum, or that you enrol as a mature-aged student.
Students are required to bring:
Notebook and general stationary items
audio headphones (not ear buds)
Portable hard drive
It is recommended that the student also has a 'Pro Tools subscription'.
Assessment
The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the course outcomes. A range of assessment strategies to meet different student's needs will be selected, including projects, reports and practical assessments.
