Course Overview
Overview
Turn your image-capturing hobby into a professional qualification for work or fun! Develop a more in-depth understanding of the functions of your camera and the quality of images you produce. You will learn how to apply a broad range of skills in photo imaging, including lighting, image capture, enhancements and manipulation, and output. This course provides you with the skills you need to work as a photo imaging assistant in a specialised photographic studio, large organisation (for example, graphic design company), or digital photo imaging workplace.
Duration
Full-time: 11 months
Requirements
You may enter the qualification with limited or no vocational experience; however, we recommend that you have completed Year 10 as a minimum.
students must provide:
- Memory cards x 2 (minimum 16gb)
- Card reader or camera cord for downloading images.
- A 500gb or larger portable hard drive (get as much storage as you can)
- 2 x 16gb USB
- A3 Portfolio with plastic sleeves (for printed portfolio)
- A4 Visual Diary and note taking device
Field Placement
You will be encouraged to undertake some form of work placement experience during the course of the year.
Assessment
The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the specific unit outcomes. A range of assessment strategies will be utilised, including practical assessments, theoretical assessments such as written tasks and tests, as well as displaying your technical abilities through project-based assessments.
